Background

The Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD) stemmed from the social work the Hashim Djojohadikusumo family devote themselves to. They aim to provide numerous opportunities for their fellow Indonesians and those who are less privileged, especially in educational and social areas. Ibu Anie Hashim Djojohadikusumo has been involved in this line of social work for more than 20 years. She initiated, pioneered, and implemented the activities and work at the time.

In early 2006, the Hashim Djojohadikusumo Family Foundation (YKHD) was established to formally recognize family’s  numerous social and educational  projects that were continuously growing and expanding. Bapak and Ibu Anie Hashim Djojohadikusumo themselves lead the foundation.

Three years later on the 20th of October 2009, YKHD became the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD). Arsari is an acronym comprised of the founders’ three children: Aryo, Sara, and Indra. They changed the name in the hopes that their three children, in years to come, will continue the work they have started.
