Yayasan Arsari Djojohadikusumo (YAD) and Yayasan Wadah Titian Harapan (Wadah Foundation) inaugurated the new buildings of the Al Hidayah Community Center or PKMW on July 28, 2015 at Block 9 of Muara Baru Apartments in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The Lurah (village head) of Penjaringan, Suranta, S.Sos, community and religious leaders of Penjaringan also attended the inauguration ceremony. The Djojohadikusumo family members including Aryo Djojohadikusumo, a Parliamentary member of Commission VII also joined this humble ceremony.
Some of the tenants of this rusunawa (rented apartments) were previously living in the slum area of the Waduk Pluit bank which is currently under rehabilitation for plans of making it a city park. They are all enthusiastic in welcoming the new buildings and facilities for their children which have been built under the cooperation of the Yayasan Arsari Djojohadikusumo and Yayasan Wadah Titian Harapan.
The new building of PKMW Al-Hidayah was officially inaugurated by the signing of the inscription by the YAD Chairperson, Hashim Djojohadikusumo and by the cutting of rice cone (tumpeng) by the Patron of Wadah, Anie Hashim.
The Al-Hidayah Community Activity Center is situated at the ground floor of the apartment building. Parallel to each other, one side of the area is dedicated to be a multi-function room, UKS (health care unit), storages, toilets and for pray-washing facilities. The other side shall then be used for PAUD (pre-school) activities, library, administrative office and a toilet.
Hasan Azhary, the Coordinator of PKMW Al-Hidayah, in his speech, reminded the community members or tenants to maintain and keep the building and facilities clean because it has already been turned over to them, thus it is their responsibility to maintain and care for it. At the same time, Suranta, the Lurah of Penjaringan, also encouraged the tenants to regularly keep the building and its environment clean.
